There’s a perception that Ethereum, and blockchains like it, can support blockchain games. The devs behind Bitcorn Crops wanted to show that it was also possible with the Bitcoin blockchain too. This is yet another project that’s breaking the mold and forging new paths in this fledgling market. This is exactly the kind of thing we want to see more of because it will show the community the possibilities.
Bitcorn Crops: Gameplay
Bitcorns is a crypto game where players become farmers. As a farmer you harvest crops with the simple goal of harvesting the most bitcorn. The winner of this harvesting competition will be decided in 2022.
To become a bitcorn farm you must own the CROPS access token. The size of your farm is determined by how many crops you own. And the larger your farm, the more Bitcorn it will yield during harvest.
On top of this, they have started adding in some in-game upgrades (most of which are submitted by their player community). Some of them are pretty hilarious, like the LamboGarage, which is exactly what you might guess, a Garage for your Lamborghini; an essential tool for any budding farmer.
Currently these upgrades are purely aesthetic, but down the road, there are plans to make them give players actual abilities.
Bitcorn Crops: Marketplace
As mentioned, Bitcorn Crops is built on the Bitcoin blockchain which definitely makes it stand out in the crypto game space. Furthermore, Bitcorn Crops is integrated with XCP which makes it’s blockchain integration very unique. Players can purchase upgrades using BITCORN, XCP, PEPECAH, etc.
You can also view the trading history and open orders of the player submitted game assets on the counterparty dex.
This has to be one of the coolest concepts we’ve seen in crypto gaming so far. And in fact, I would say we’ve never seen anything like this in games before. Definitely a project to watch is progresses. And don’t forget to set your alarms for 2022 to see who wins this farming extraveganza!
